IU Basketball Recruiting: The Hoosiers Offer Class of 2020 Wing Jalen Bridges

Indiana isn’t finished issuing offers in the class of 2020.

IU offered Fairmont, West Virginia based forward Jalen Bridges on Monday night.

The offer was first reported by Corey Evans of Rivals on Twitter. Bridges also announced the offer on Twitter.

The 6-foot-7 Bridges is technically part of the class of 2019, but he is going to attend Scotland Campus prep school in Pennsylvania for the 2019-20 season, and he is being recruiting for the class of 2020.

Bridges is rated as the No. 81 player in the nation in the 2020 class according to the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 20 small forward.

Playing on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit for Wildcats Select this spring, Bridges has averaged 17.7 points on 47% shooting overall and 34% from long range. Bridges has added 3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1 block per game.

During the 2018-19 season, Bridges averaged 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.9 steals per game at Fairmont Senior High School. He led Fairmont to four straight appearances in the state championship game. As a senior, he was West Virginia’s state player of the year.

Based on a report by 247Sports, Bridges added 20 pounds over the last year, and with that has become an imposing presence on both ends of the floor. That same service described him as “an impressive physical make up at 6-foot-6 and long arms. He’s solid athletically, shoots it well off the catch from long-range and can guard his position.”

Bridges is an AAU teammate of Zach Loveday, who has been rumored recently to be leaning in the direction of Indiana.

Bridges has offers from several other power five programs including Xavier, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, NC State and Miami.
