Indiana continues to be on the lookout for a versatile scorers, and they found a fast-rising guard in the class of 2023 who fits that description.
On Monday, North Carolina based Freddie Dilione reported an offer on his Twitter page from IU.

At 6-foot-5 with high-level ball handling skills and an ability to get downhill, Dilione appears capable of playing anywhere from the one through the three positions at the next level.
Dilione averaged 25.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game this past season for Word of God Academy. Prior to that, he played at Trinity Christian in Fayetteville, N.C.
For AAU he plays for North Carolina based Team Loaded on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit. It is with that program this spring that Dilione’s recruitment has exploded after a pair of dominant performances over the two April live periods. His 24 points per game are the second most of anyone on the Adidas circuit thus far, and he is adding 7.3 rebounds per game from his guard position.
Dilione reclassified up to the 2023 class from 2022.
247Sports national analyst Adam Finkelstein wrote this about Dilione after watching him this weekend:
“Dilione is the team’s biggest attraction right now as he had a steady dose of high-majors watching him all day because of his size and volume scoring ability (not too mention sneaky good floor vision and passing ability when he’s willing)”
Dilione serves as your latest reminder that rankings are fluid. He is a 3-star, ranked No. 142 overall by 247Sports as of this writing. But his wave of offers this spring tell the real story.
In addition to IU, Dilione has now been offered by Tennessee, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, Rutgers, Texas A&M, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Xavier, LSU, Providence, N.C. State, Alabama, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and others. Most of those offers have come in the last month.
Indiana head coach Mike Woodson and assistant coach Brian Walsh were down in South Carolina watching the Adidas Circuit over the weekend.
