Indiana continued to expand its offer list in the class of 2027 over the weekend.
Melbourne, Fla. product Martay Barnes announced an offer from the IU staff on his social media pages.
The 6-foot-2 Barnes attends Academy of Central Florida and played in front of the IU staff this weekend at the DMV Live event in the Washington D.C. metro area.
According to the industry average of the national recruiting outlets, Barnes is a 4-star, the No. 28 overall player in the 2027 class, and the No. 1 combo guard.
For travel basketball Barnes plays up a year for Austin Rivers SE Elite 17u on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit. This spring he averaged 14 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He has shot 43% overall including 36% from three on 50 attempts.
Barnes is a very fast guard who likes to get downhill and can score at all three levels.
In addition to IU, Barnes has offers from Kansas, Cincinnati, Florida State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, South Carolina, UCF, USF, and others.
