The Indiana coaching staff looked West this week and offered Arizona big man Cameron Williams.
The 6-foot-10 power forward attends St. Mary’s H.S. in Phoenix, Ariz. There he averaged 18 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.6 blocks, and 1.8 steals per game. He shot 51% from the field and 36% from three and his team won the state title.
According to the industry average of the national recruiting sites, Williams is a 4-star prospect, the No. 98 overall player, and the No. 16 power forward. He’s being touted this spring as a prospect who is likely to make a major move up the rankings this spring and summer.
On film Williams looks like a modern big man, with length and athleticism and the ability to score and defend inside and out.
For AAU Williams plays for the Compton Magic on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit. He’s been an eye-catcher this spring, averaging 17.4 points while shooting 62.9% from the field overall, including 46.2% from three on 26 attempts.
Williams also has offers from Arizona, Stanford, SMU, Notre Dame, and USC. Purdue and Texas are involved as well. Given his start to the spring, his recruitment is likely to really take off in the months to come.
