Indiana made the final seven for highly sought after class of 2026 5-star forward Anthony Thompson, he announced on Thursday.
In addition to IU, Thompson is also still considering Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Purdue, and Texas.
“Coach DeVries, I’ve developed a good relationship with him and his staff at Indiana,” Thompson told TDH this month at the Adidas 3SSB event in Rock Hill S.C.
The 6-foot-8 and 205-pound Thompson has a 7-foot-3 and-a-half wingspan. The Ohio native attends Western Reserve Academy.
Thompson is currently a 5-star, ranked No. 8 overall in the 2026 class, and the No. 3 small forward according to the average of the national outlets.
Playing for Indiana Elite this spring and summer, Thompson has been one of the top scorers on the Adidas circuit. He averaged 22.8 points to go with 5.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
Thompson has been to IU multiple times, but not since the new staff was hired. He has not yet announced a slate of official visits.
He says his relationship with the coaches and their playing style will be the biggest factors in his college decision. What is the playing style that fits him best?
“A playing style like I play now (for Indiana Elite),” he said. “Being able to play on the perimeter on offense, and guard multiple positions.”
