Class of 2023 in-state forward Xavier Booker narrowed his recruiting field on Monday evening.

The Cathedral H.S. (Indianapolis, Ind.) product said his top-10 schools are Oregon, Purdue, Cincinnati, Gonzaga, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Auburn, Michigan, Michigan State and Indiana.

Following a recent visit to Bloomington, Booker told The Daily Hoosier about his relationship with the IU coaching staff.

“They (the IU staff) talked about the family atmosphere down there. It’s a really good fit with the coaching staff. I have a good relationship with all of them really,” Booker said a few weeks ago.

In a national report by 247Sports’ Eric Bossi, Booker spoke about all of his top-10.  This is what he said about Indiana:

“Mike Woodson is going into his second year there and I’ve developed a really good relationship with him. He came to my last two games yesterday and I’ve developed a good relationship there. I went on a visit there and I really liked it and could see myself fitting in. (Woodson) doesn’t refer to players as ones, twos, threes, fours or fives he refers to them as basketball players and really wants them to be able to do everything so I really like that about him and his program.”

A 6-foot-11 forward, Booker averaged 12.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots per game as a junior and helped lead Cathedral to a 26-6 record and the Class 4A state championship.

Booker is currently ranked as a 4-star and the No. 58 overall player nationally according to the 247Sports Composite.

Playing for independent George Hill All Indy in the spring and summer, Booker saw his stock soar over the last few months.  He is rated as a 5-star prospect according to some outlets.
