BLOOMINGTON — Indiana defeated Oregon Monday evening at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall by a final score of 92-74.

The three keys to the game, highlights and final stats are below.

The Hoosiers led 36-30 at halftime.  They were led in the game by Lamar Wilkerson with 41 points.

Indiana (17-8, 8-6) will next travel to Illinois on Sunday.

    THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

    1. Wilkerson delivers another masterpiece.  Lamar Wilkerson has no plans to give up his Big Ten scoring lead.  On what looked like an off night as Wilkerson missed his first five shots, the senior guard posted 41 points on 13 of 20 shooting including a 6 of 12 night from three.  He made 13 of his last 15 shots.  Wilkerson added five rebounds and three assists.  It was the second-highest scoring game of his career, after his 44-point performance against Penn State earlier this season.

    2. Highly efficient offense.  Indiana only scored 14 points in the first 12:18 of the game, but once the Hoosiers figured out Oregon’s defense it was lights out for the Ducks.  Indiana outscored Oregon 16-6 as part of a fast second half start, and they posted 56 total points after the break.  Sam Alexis was a perfect 8 of 8 from the field to lead a 60% team night from the field.  The Hoosiers scored 1.46 points per possession for the game, including 1.81 in the second half.

    3. Low turnovers, rebounding edge.  Indiana continued its pattern of maintaining a low turnover total.  The Hoosiers gave it away just nine times.  They also outrebounded Oregon 29-25 and limited a bigger Ducks lineup to just eight offensive rebounds.  It was all hands on deck as Indiana’s guards crashed the glass.  Conor Enright led the team with six rebounds, and Wilkerson added five.
