Indiana lost to Michigan Tuesday night at the Crisler Center by a final score of 86-72.

The three keys to the game, highlights, and final stats are below.

Michigan led 40-29 at halftime. The Hoosiers were led in the game by Tucker DeVries with 15 points.

Indiana (12-7, 3-5) will travel to Rutgers on Friday.

    THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

    1. Offensive woes continue – Once again, Indiana’s offense did not get off to a good start, leading to an uphill battle from the beginning. The Hoosiers started 1 of 15 from the field, and found themselves trailing 22-5 with 9:55 remaining in the first half. IU failed to get clean looks for Lamar Wilkerson, who finished with eight points. IU was without Tayton Conerway for the majority of the game, who only played two minutes while nursing an ankle injury sustained against Iowa.

    2. Michigan’s size dominates on the glass – From the opening tip, it was clear Indiana was outmatched in size across the board. The Wolverines absolutely dominated the Hoosiers on the glass, winning the rebounding battle 41 to 25. Michigan also hauled in 12 offensive rebounds, which allowed them to get 16 second-chance points. IU gathered five of their own and only had four points off of them.

    3. No answers for Wolverine offense – Simply put, Indiana could not contain a Michigan offense that can beat teams in multiple ways. The Wolverines shot 51% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc. U of M utilized their size well, scoring 32 points in the paint to IU’s 22. Elliot Cadeau led the way for the Wolverines with 19 points on 5 for 11 shooting. Yaxel Lendeborg, Aday Mara, and Trey McKenney all chipped in with double-figure scoring nights to help Michigan. The Hoosiers also continued to show fouling issues, with 21 team fouls, and both Sam Alexis and Conor Enright fouling out. The Wolverines converted 22 points on free throws.
