    Michigan’s Dusty May

    Dusty May returns to Assembly Hall for the first time as a head coach after serving as a student manager for the team from 1996-2000 under Bob Knight and later as a staff member under Mike Davis. So far as a head coach, May holds a career record of 143-74 between in seasons with Florida Atlantic and one with Michigan.

    May had an extensive career as an assistant prior to earning his first head coaching role at FAU. From 2005 to 2018, he served as an assistant with Eastern Michigan, Murray State, UAB, Louisiana Tech, and Florida.

    May was hired to coach Florida Atlantic in the spring of 2018. Their most notable season came in the 2022-23 when the Owls finished with a 35-4 overall record and an appearance in the Final Four. FAU won both the regular season and postseason tournament in Conference USA that season as well. After a 25-9 season and another appearance in the NCAA Tournament, May was hired to coach Michigan last spring.

    Vladislav Goldin

    • Goldin leads U-M with 15.6 points per game
    • He has two 30-plus point games this season
    • He had a career-best 36 at UCLA and 31 against Northwestern
    • Goldin has a team-best 40 dunks — a third of his field goals this season
    • Goldin is shooting a team-best 64.8 percent, which is second in the Big Ten.
    • He set the Florida Atlantic single season record in 2023-24 (67.3 percent)
    • Goldin is 9-for-18 from long range (50.0 percent).

    Danny Wolf

    • Wolf averages a double-double — 12.3 points and 10.0 rebounds.
    • He leads the Big Ten with 10 double-doubles
    • Wolf has 15 double-figure scoring games, with four of 20-plus
    • He scored a season-best 23 points at Minnesota (8-for-10 FG)
    • Wolf’s 10.0 rebounds lead the Big Ten

    • Wolf is shooting a career-best 51.5 percent

    • U-M head coach Dusty May makes his return to Indiana. May grew up in Bloomfield, Ind., 45 minutes southwest of Bloomington. Intending to become a high school basketball coach, May attended IU (1996-200) and served as a student manager at Indiana under Bob Knight.

    • While in Bloomington, May switched his focus to the collegiate level and began his career with video and administrative roles with both USC and Indiana before landing his first assistant coaching job at Eastern Michigan (2005-06) under Charles E. Ramsey.

    • After nine straight wins over Indiana, Michigan has dropped its last four games to the Hoosiers by a combined 11 points — an average of 2.7 points per game.

    • In his last two games, Danny Wolf has 26 rebounds after grabbing 11 in the two games prior. He has 13 games of 10-plus rebounds and leads the Big Ten with 10.0 per game. Wolf also leads the Big Ten with 10 double-doubles.

    • Tre Donaldson, who has three straight games with five-plus assists, needs four to reach 100 for his career. It would mark the second straight season reaching the mark after his 112 last season at Auburn (2023-24).

    • After a 2-for-4 performance and playing ill against Penn State, Vladislav Goldin is 12-for-15 (80 percent) in his last two games with 15 points (6-for-7) against Oregon and 14 (6-for-8) at Rutgers. He had six boards in each game.

    • Michigan brought in 11 new players: two graduate transfers, four junior transfers, one sophomore transfer, and four freshmen.

    • Michigan returns five Wolverines from its 2023-24 squad, including lone starter Nimari Burnett and U-M Sixth Man Will Tschetter.

    • The Maize and Blue roster does not have a player under 6-0. The Wolverines have played three 6-10 and taller players – 6-10 Sam Walters, 7-0 Danny Wolf, and 7-1 Vladislav Goldin.

    Offensive Efficiency – No. 20

    • The Wolverines boast a 57.6% effective field goal percentage on the year (No. 5). They are shooting 36.8% on 3s and 59.6% on 2s as a team (No. 54, No. 6).
    • They have had a turnover problem with a 20.6% rate (No. 336).
    • They hit the offensive glass well with a 33.9% rate (No. 61)
    • They assist on 61.7% of each made field goal (No. 13).

    Defensive Efficiency – No. 25

    • Teams have an effective field goal percentage of 46.4% against Michigan (No. 29). They’ve allowed a 30.8% clip from three this season, and 46.5% on twos (No. 45, No. 37).
