Bryce Lindsay Lands with Indiana Men’s Basketball

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana head men’s basketball coach Darian DeVries announced the addition of third-year guard Bryce Lindsay to the basketball program on Thursday. Lindsay, the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year, joined Indiana after three seasons at Texas A&M, James Madison, and Villanova.

Lindsay produced 834 points, 158 rebounds, 142 assists, and 44 steals in 72 career games. He made 44 starts over the last three seasons and averaged 11.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 26.6 minutes per game. The 6-3 combo guard shot 41.5% (281-of-677) from the floor, 37.7% (167-of-443) from the 3-point line, and 78.9% (105-of-133) from the free throw line. Over the last two seasons, Lindsay averaged 12.8 points on 38.2% shooting (165-of-432) from beyond the arc. He is one of 30 players to make at least 160 3-pointers and shoot better than 37.5% from distance over the last two seasons combined. He scored double figures in 43 career games, topped the 20-point barrier nine times, and made multiple 3-pointers in 44 career games.

In Villanova’s return to the NCAA Tournament, Lindsay made 31 starts and 33 appearances. He averaged 12.3 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 28.7 minutes per game. He shot 38.3% (132-of-345) from the floor, 35.6% (78-of-219) from the 3-point line, and 77.1% (64-of-83) from the free throw line. He reached double figures in the scoring column on 21 occasions, collected five games with 20-plus points, made at least one 3-pointer in 28 contests, and added 20 games with multiple made 3-pointers.

His breakout season came with James Madison in 2024-25. He appeared in 31 games and earned a starting role for the final 13 contests. He averaged 13.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 29.5 minutes per game. He shot 45.5% (143-of-314) from the floor, 40.8% (87-of-213) from the 3-point line, and 85.4% (41-of-48) from the free throw line. He was one of two freshmen nationally to make at least 80 3-pointers and shoot over 40.0% from distance. Lindsay posted the fifth-highest scoring average in James Madison history for a freshman, the sixth-most made 3-pointers in a single season in JMU history, and notched a Dukes’ freshman record for made 3-pointers. He was named the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, and selected to the All-Conference Third Team.

He began his collegiate career at Texas A&M, played eight games, and missed the final 24 games of the season. He averaged 19.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists for St. Frances Academy (Md.) in 2021-22 while leading the Panthers to a 35-6 record. Prior to his time at St. Frances, Lindsay helped lead Baltimore Polytechnic to a Maryland Class 3A state championship as a freshman.
