    FINAL: Indiana 98, UCLA 97

    DOUBLE OVERTIME

Wow. Trent Sisley draws a foul with 0.3 left. He goes to the foul line with a chance to win the game, and he gets the job done. He makes the first and misses the second, and time runs out.

Big review here, it looked like triple overtime was coming but there are 1.5 seconds left with a baseline out of bounds, for someone.

1:20 left in double overtime: UCLA leads IU 93-92.

Back and forth we go. Indiana and UCLA are tied 90-90 with 2:13 left in 2OT. There have been three lead changes in 2OT.

Tyler Bilodeau has fouled out for UCLA early in 2OT. That could be a big swing for Indiana.

    OVERTIME

We are headed to double overtime. Indiana 84, UCLA 84. Tucker DeVries finds Sam Alexis for a game-tying bucket with six seconds left in overtime.

Bailey fouled out as well. IU is forced into a crunch-time overtime lineup of Tucker DeVries, Lamar Wilkerson, Nick Dorn, Trent Sisley, and Sam Alexis. I think IU now only has Aleksa Ristic and Andrej Acimovic left on the bench, along with walk-ons.

Jasai Miles fouled out with 3:19 left in overtime. Nick Dorn and Reed Bailey are both playing with four fouls. Indiana is on thin ice with that foul situation, with Tayton Conerway unavailable and Conor Enright already fouled out.

END OF REGULATION: Indiana 76, UCLA 76

UCLA came back from down three possessions in the final minute to get this game to overtime. Trent Perry hit a huge 3-pointer with two seconds left to tie the game. A total collapse by IU in failing to close this one out in regulation.

Conor Enright fouled out with nine seconds left, so IU is particularly thin in the backcourt for overtime.

    SECOND HALF

IU’s lead is down to four points with 51 seconds left. 71-67 Hoosiers, as IU calls another timeout while trying to in-bound against UCLA’s press.

Final media timeout: Indiana is ahead 66-59 with 3:04 left.

    • Reed Bailey dominated that last segment, and he is up to 21 points on the night. Maybe his best game in an Indiana uniform.
    • Hoosiers are in good shape to pick up a really nice win here if they can close it out.

Mick Cronin takes a timeout to force the under-8 timeout after a big dunk by Reed Bailey. IU leads 56-52.

    • IU is shooting 50 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent from beyond the arc in the second half.
    • Bailey and Dorn continue to lead the way in this second half. Dorn is up to 23 points on the night, Bailey at 14.
    • IU has 17 assists on 18 made field goals. Bailey’s dunk right before the break was Indiana’s first unassisted field goal of the night. Indiana’s passing has been a strength here.

    49-47 Hoosiers at the under-12.

    • Nick Dorn is a game-changer. He had five points at halftime, but he now has 15 in the second half, 20 on the night.
    • Reed Bailey deserves some love. He’s fighting hard inside and having a nice game as well.
    • I’ve been impressed with Indiana’s bounce-back ability tonight. UCLA has gone on runs, and there have been games when IU has let runs like that spin out of control. But they’ve done a good job tonight of minimizing damage and responding to get back in the game.

IU has closed the deficit to 43-40 at the first media timeout of the second half.

    • Nick Dorn is on fire to start the second half, with eight points in around four and a half minutes.
    • Indiana is also out-rebounding UCLA 4-1 since halftime, which is a good omen.

    Halftime: UCLA 36, Indiana 30

UCLA closed the first half on a 20-8 run.

    First half

Final media timeout of the first half: UCLA 27, Indiana 25.

    • Lamar Wilkerson has had a really nice first half, but he picked up a second foul and went to the bench. He’s shot 3 for 9 for nine points, along with a team-high five rebounds.
    • UCLA is getting a lot of easy buckets inside. The Bruins have 16 points in the paint already, while IU has six. The Hoosiers are going to need someone to step up offensively if DeVries is going to keep Wilkerson on the bench until halftime.

The DeVries timeout paid dividends. IU is on an 8-0 run and leads UCLA 18-16 at the under-8 timeout.

    • The Hoosiers have snatched momentum back in this game. Lamar Wilkerson stepped up with several really nice plays in this stretch, and IU has done a good job playing physical defense against UCLA.

Darian DeVries calls timeout with Indiana on a scoring drought of nearly three minutes. UCLA is ahead 14-8.

    • IU is shooting just 3 for 12 from the field and 1 for 6 from 3-point range.

At the first half under-12 timeout, UCLA is up 9-7 on Indiana.

    • Bruins are leaning heavily on Donovan Dent so far. Indiana may be OK with that, rather than it turning into an inside battle. But that means it’s another big test for IU’s backcourt defenders.
    • The Hoosiers have five turnovers already, just over eight minutes into this game. That is not great.
    • It’s just been a physical, defensive struggle so far. Both teams are scoring under 0.7 points per possession early on.

First media timeout: UCLA leads 5-3, with 15:56 left in the first half.

    • Slower-paced game early on; each team has six possessions so far.
    • IU, in its six possessions, made one field goal and committed two turnovers. UCLA also had two turnovers, but has two made field goals and one trip to the free-throw line.

Game on at Pauley Pavilion. This is a big opportunity for the Hoosiers — they can capitalize on the momentum created from the Purdue win, and beating a good UCLA team on the road would be good for both IU’s résumé and its confidence going into February.

    PREGAME NOTES

IU is rolling with the same starting lineup it’s had for the last three games: Nick Dorn, Lamar Wilkerson, Conor Enright, Tucker DeVries, and Sam Alexis. UCLA will be without Skyy Clark (13.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.4 steals per game) for the eighth straight game. The Bruins start Trent Perry, Donovan Dent, Eric Dailey Jr., Tyler Bilodeau, and Xavier Booker.

Indiana guard Tayton Conerway is out.  Here is the full injury report:
