    IU alumni team Assembly Ball tips-off TBT action Saturday afternoon

    The 2025 edition of The Basketball Tournament (TBT) is underway.

    Here’s what you need to know from an IU basketball perspective:

    WHO:  Assembly Ball is a team made up primarily of former IU basketball players.  Assembly Ball’s current roster includes 11 former Hoosiers:

    0 – SF – Troy Williams – Indiana
    1 – PG – Jordan Hulls – Indiana
    2 – PF – Christian Watford – Indiana
    5 – SG – James Blackmon – Indiana
    10 – PG – Jordan King – Richmond
    11 – PG – Yogi Ferrell – Indiana
    12 – SF – Miller Kopp – Indiana
    13 – PF – Juwan Morgan – Indiana
    21 – PG – QJ Peterson – VMI
    25 – PF – Race Thompson – Indiana
    30 – SG – Jarron Cumberland – Cincinnati
    32 – PF – Noah Vonleh – Indiana
    33 – C – Luke Fischer – Marquette
    42 – PG – Aljami Durham – Indiana
    45 – C – Julian Gamble – Miami

    WHAT:  TBT is a 64-team, single-elimination, winner-takes-all, $1 million prize tournament featuring the Elam Ending, where a target winning score is set to end the game.  You can find the full TBT bracket here.

    WHEN:  Assembly Ball tips-off the 2025 tournament with a Saturday, July 19 game at 4 p.m. ET against Fail Harder.  Assembly Ball is the No. 2 seed in the Indianapolis regional, Fail Harder the No. 7.

    OPPONENT:  Fail Harder is organized by Indianapolis native and former Virginia basketball star Kyle Guy.  Most of Fail Harder’s players played mid- or low-major in college, or below Division I.  Former Nebraska guard Kobe Webster is an exception.

    WHERE:  Assembly Ball is co-hosting the Indianapolis Regional with No. 3 seed Butler’s All Good Dawgs at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis from July 18-23.

    WATCH:  Assembly Ball’s first game will be televised on FS1.  For tickets, GO HERE.

    WHAT’S NEXT:  The rest of the Indianapolis region includes top-seeded Carmen’s Crew (Ohio State Alumni), fourth-seeded Locked in Elite, fifth-seeded Fort Wayne Champs (featuring former IU player Luke Goode), sixth-seeded Shield 219 (Valparaiso Alumni), seventh-seeded Fail Harder, and eighth-seeded GoTime Green Machine.

    The winner of Assembly Ball and Fail Harder will face the winner of All Good Dawgs and Shield 219 on Monday evening at 8 p.m. ET.
