U.S. President Donald Trump is convening a roundtable at the White House to address the complex challenges confronting college athletics.
IU AD Scott Dolson is among those invited, Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger first reported.
The roundtable is intended to cover issues such name, image and likeness compensation, the transfer portal, conference realignment, and the overall future of collegiate sports.
Scheduled for Friday, March 6, the closed-door session is expected to bring together college presidents, conference commissioners, athletic directors, coaches, business figures and sports executives in an effort to craft a collaborative approach to the myriad issues confronting college sports in recent years.
Trump will serve as chair of the roundtable, according to Dellenger. The vice chairs will be Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and New York Yankees president Randy Levine.
The group, known as the Saving College Sports Roundtable, is seeking clear, enforceable rules rather than litigation, including the possibility of long-discussed federal legislation.
The invitation to Dolson comes on the heels of IU football winning the 2025 national championship. Dolson hired football coach Curt Cignetti in late 2023.
Expected attendees include a diverse mix of leaders in college sports and related industries, as reported by Dellenger:
