CAROLIND, Puerto Rico — Indiana guard Jason Drake did not make the trip to Puerto Rico this week due to an injury.
Following his team’s 98-47 win over the Universidad de Bayamon Wednesday evening, IU coach Darian DeVries was asked about the status of Drake.
“He’s dealing with a lower-body injury right now,” DeVries said. “We’ll have more on that later.”
Drake could be seen riding a stationary bike during Indiana’s open practice last week.
Last year at Drexel, Drake started all 33 games and averaged 11.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 26.2 minutes per game.
Junior wing Nick Dorn is also dealing with an injury, but while unavailable to play, he did travel with the team.
Last week DeVries said Dorn is likely to return sometime in the fall.
Indiana is without three scholarship players in Puerto Rico. Bosnian center Andrej Acimovic is not yet with the team.
