Indiana Women’s Basketball Readying for Big Ten Play

The Indiana University women’s basketball team begins Big Ten play at home against Michigan State on Thursday, December 28.  The game will tipoff at 7 p.m. at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.  Indiana native (Seymour) Teri Moren is in her fourth season leading the Hoosier women’s basketball team in 2017-18.

Coming into the season the main question for the Hoosiers was who from the supporting cast would step up and be the key contributors behind senior leaders Tyra Buss and Amanda Cahill.  Most predictions had the Hoosiers as a middle of the pack team in the Big Ten conference.  If the pre-conference slate is a good indicator those predictions for Indiana (7-6) might just be accurate.

The expected Big Ten conference leaders include Ohio State, Maryland, Michigan and Iowa.

Indiana’s wins on the season have come against Arkansas State, Southern, Western Kentucky, UAB, North Texas, Northern Kentucky and Yale.

Losses have been to Chattanooga, Saint Mary’s, (3) Louisville, Auburn, (16) Missouri and Virginia.

The Hoosiers have achieved 20 wins in its last two seasons.  It will take a strong run during conference play to reach that mark for a third straight season.  The conference schedule is front-loaded with some of the better conference teams, so it will take a strong start out of the gate.

B1G HOME GAMES – Michigan St, Purdue, Ohio St, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Northwestern, Illinois, Nebraska.

B1G ROAD GAMES – Ohio St, Penn St, Michigan, Maryland, Michigan St, Purdue, Minnesota, Iowa.
