IU opens regular-season play on Nov. 5 against Alabama A&M (No. 319). The Hoosiers non-conference slate presents some good opportunities early in the season, with games against Marquette (No. 47), Kansas State (No. 61), Louisville (No. 14), and Kentucky (No. 4). Their non-marquee opponents all check in above No. 200, except for one: No. 174 Incarnate Word.
Bart Torvik’s T-Rank has Indiana in a similar spot, at No. 41, and also 11th among Big Ten teams.
The Hoosiers closed last season at No. 45 in KenPom, and have finished in the top 30 only once in the last five years.
