Indiana All-American linebacker Aiden Fisher suffered a first quarter knee injury against UCLA.
The senior leader of the IU defense twisted awkwardly while attempting a tackle in the first quarter.
Isaiah Jones has filled in for Fisher alongside Rolijah Hardy at linebacker. Jones forced a first half fumble after the injury.
Fisher was still in pads, but on the Indiana sideline with no helmet. He could be seen wearing a left knee brace after the injury but was moving around without a limp. He wasn’t wearing the brace while he was playing in the game.
During his halftime interview on FOX, IU coach Curt Cignetti said the staff didn’t know yet what’s going on with Fisher’s knee, but he didn’t sound overly concerned. “He’s walking around fine,” Cignetti said. “It’s more precautionary.”
Before leaving the game, Fisher had one tackle and .5 for a loss. He also intercepted a UCLA pass on the second play of the game and returned it for a touchdown.
Coming into the game, Fisher had 48 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks this season.
In 2024 Fisher earned first-team All-America honors at linebacker from Football Writers Association of America and Phil Steele. He was the first Indiana linebacker to earn first-team All-America status in program history. He had 118 tackles a season ago.
