The 2018-19 NBA season is now well underway, and eight former IU basketball stars are back at it.  We will be monitoring their seasons with monthly updates.

Below we summarize their performance through the end of November.

(Note:  Stats are actually through December 2nd games)

    OG Anunoby – Toronto

Anunoby is primarily coming off the bench but that hasn’t significantly impacted his minutes per game thus far.  He had a stretch in November of four straight games scoring in double figures, but then missed time with a wrist injury.

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 18/3

    MPG – 21.5 (career high)
    Points – 8.6 (career high)
    Rebounds – 2.6 (career high)
    Assists – .6
    Blocks – .3 (career high)
    Steals – .6
    FG% – .467
    3FG% – .300
    FT% – .353

    Thomas Bryant – Washington

Things changed dramatically for Bryant in November.  With Dwight Howard out for months, the former Hoosier has a big opportunity in front of him.  He earned his first career start in the NBA in November, and is seeing the most extensive playing time of his young career.  He had a 12 point / 7 rebound performance against Philadelphia last Friday.

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 13/7

    MPG – 11.5 (career high)
    Points – 4.7 (career high)
    Rebounds – 3.2 (career high)
    Assists – .7 (career high)
    Blocks – .6 (career high)
    Steals – .3 (career high)
    FG% – .568 (career high)
    3FG% – .083
    FT% – .833 (career high)

    Yogi Ferrell – Sacramento

Ferrell had a quiet November as he is still carving out his role in Sacramento.  He per 36 minute numbers are right along his career averages.

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 13/2

    MPG – 13.8
    Points – 5.3
    Rebounds – 1.5
    Assists – .9
    Blocks – .1
    Steals – .5
    FG% – .418
    3FG% – .333
    FT% – 1.000 (career high)

    Eric Gordon – Houston

The Rockets are righting the ship after a slow start.  Similarly, Gordon’s play improved quit a bit in November.  His field goal percentage rose from 30.6 to 36.7% as he worked his way out of a slump.  He has averaged 24.4 points per game over the last five contests.

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 19/8

    MPG – 32.8

    Victor Oladipo – Indiana

November was a tough month for Oladipo as he has been sideline indefinitely with a knee injury.  He hasn’t played since November 17.

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 16/16
    Points – 21.4
    Rebounds – 6.6 (career high)
    Assists – 4.7 (career high)
    Blocks – .5
    Steals – 1.6
    FG% – .440
    3FG% – .345
    FT% – .712

    Noah Vonleh – New York

    Photo of Noah Vonleh

It has been a truly amazing reversal of fortunes for the still just 23 year old Vonleh.  He has already started more games than he had in a season since 2016-17, and he seems to be fully capitalizing on the new opportunity in New York.

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 24/17

    MPG – 25 (career high)
    Points – 8.3 (career high)
    Rebounds – 8.1 (career high)
    Assists – 1.7 (career high)
    Blocks – 1.0 (career high)
    Steals – .7 (career high)
    FG% – .500 (career high)
    3FG% – .452 (career high)
    FT% – .741

    Troy Williams – Sacramento

With five teams in just over two seasons, Williams can already be labeled a journeyman.  But he is doing good things in Sacramento, and has averaged nearly 20 minutes and nine points per game over the Kings’ last two contests.

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 12/0

    MPG – 15.7
    Points – 6.9 (career high)

    Steals – .4
    FG% – .500 (career high)
    3FG% – .433 (career high)
    FT% – .615

    Cody Zeller – Charlotte

Zeller is above his career averages in points per game and field goal percentage.  The Washington, Indiana native had a 19 point performance last Wednesday, but suffered a rib contusion in the following game and missed Sunday’s contest.

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 22/22

    MPG – 23.5
