Phil Bova’s three decade Big Ten officiating career mostly overlapped with Bob Knight’s time at Indiana. So of course he has some stories to tell.
Most notably, Bova was officiating the game on February 23, 1985 against Purdue when Knight threw a chair across the floor at Assembly Hall. He goes in depth on that moment and tells several other stories about Knight and officiating in the Big Ten on the Dennis Manoloff Show.
