This 2022 profile page covers Georgia forward Kaleb Banks.

    ESSENTIALS

Status —  COMMITTED TO INDIANA (July 23, 2021)

Hometown – Fayetteville, Georgia (Fayette County H.S.)
Position – Small forward / stretch four
    Height – 6-foot-8
    Weight – 215
    AAU – Atlanta Celtics (Adidas)
    247 Sports Composite Rating – 4-star / No. 92
Primary Competition – Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Mississippi State, Xavier, Miami (Fla.)

Timeline — Look for Banks to make a late summer decision after he completes visits and AAU basketball.

Indiana Connections — Indiana offered Banks a scholarship soon after new assistant coach Yasir Rosemond was hired in April. Rosemond hails from Atlanta and trained Banks before joining the staff.

Numbers — Banks averaged 23.5 points and 8.5 rebounds for Fayette County as a junior.  He shot 63 percent from the field overall including 38 percent from behind the arc on 105 attempts.  Banks added 1.8 assists, 1.2 steals and .5 blocks per game.

    COACH AND RECRUITING SERVICE ASSESSMENTS

“He’s got an ability to score the ball at all three levels. Create his own shot and be able to flow athletically. His handle is really a work in progress. He started developing it last summer and throughout the school year he got so comfortable with it. We put a lot of responsibility on him as a creator for our team this summer. He’s really flourishing in that role. We like his progress for sure. I think he’s better at being patient. Last year he was really quick. Now we’re getting him to slow down, use his talents and a little more of his IQ.”

    — Greg Robinson, AAU coach to The Daily Hoosier

“A lean and wiry strong junior, Banks is in the 6’7/6’8” range, doesn’t lack for confidence and has impressive physical tools. He’s a toughness guy whose skill has really developed whether it be in the post, going off the dribble or making decisions. His game is about versatility.”

    — Eric Bossi, 247Sports national analyst

“I am a versatile player on defense, I can guard the one through four out there, and I will be able to guard the five as I work on my strength and get bigger. I feel I can bang with the big guys and just handle the little guys,”

    — Banks to Rivals’ national analyst Jamie Shaw

    QUOTABLE

“I like Coach Woodson and his NBA background,” Banks said. “I like Indiana as a whole. I like the fans. I like the tradition. It’s just a good basketball school. I feel like it fits me well. At the rate the game is going, with the versatility I bring to the table, it seems like what this guy is looking for.”

    — Banks to The Daily Hoosier

“I like Indiana because of Coach Woodson and the new coaching staff they brought in and the style of offense they want to bring into there program will prepare me for the next level.”

    — Banks to HoopSeen
