Listen below as former IU basketball player Jim Crews joined the Hoop Heads podcast to discuss his upbringing and basketball life. Crews started as a freshman for IU in 1973, and he was a key senior reserve on the 1976 national championship team.  IU won the Big Ten every year Crews was on the team.  He then joined Bob Knight’s coaching staff and was an assistant coach on the 1981 title squad.  He was Knight’s first former IU player to join him as an assistant. Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo had high praise for Indiana’s improved play of late. In a media availability on Friday, Izzo said IU was “an elite team” on Thursday when they defeated Illinois by 15 on the road. The Big Ten is searching for its seventh Commissioner after the Chicago Bears announced on Thursday Kevin Warren will become their next CEO and President. Warren had been with the Big Ten since June 2019 but recently was not given a contract extension by the league according to a report by ESPN’s Pete Thamel. The Big Ten acknowledged Warren’s key accomplishments in a statement. “Commissioner Warren was pivotal in the expansion from 14-to-16 academic and athletic member institutions and leading the media rights negotiations for the conference,” the conference said in a release.  “He has been dedicated to building inclusion…
