Watch as IU basketball guard Lamar Wilkerson met with the media on Wednesday in Bloomington. The 6-foot-6 Wilkerson was first team All-Conference USA in 2024-25 for Sam Houston.  He started all 32 games and averaged 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 steals in 34.9 minutes per game. Wilkerson was one of 19 players nationally to average at least 20.0 points per contest.  He shot 47.7% (229-of-480) from the floor, 44.5% (109-of-245) from three, and 82.2% (88-of-107) from the free throw line. Indiana returning All-Americans D’Angelo Ponds and Aiden Fisher are on preseason watch lists for two of college football’s most prestigious awards. Ponds is on the Jim Thorpe Award watch list announced on Wednesday.  A second-team All-America pick by six outlets in 2024, Ponds was a first-team All-Big Ten pick as a true sophomore. Awarded to the outstanding player in college football, the Maxwell Award announced its preseason watch list Monday, with Indiana football quarterback Fernando Mendoza and wide receiver Elijah Sarratt each among the 80-player contingent. Indiana is one of just 16 programs to have multiple players on the preseason watch list. Semifinalists will be announced November 11 and the three finalists for the Maxwell Award will be unveiled November 25. As reported Monday morning, Indiana has added 6-foot-11 Bosnian center Andrej Acimovic to the 2025-26 roster. Former IU basketball star Cody Zeller made a return visit to Bloomington this week. The program’s X account posted some photos of Zeller, including with new head coach Darian DeVries. Zeller was at IU for a year when assistant coach Kenny Johnson did his first tour in that role from 2012-14.  He can be seen with Johnson below as well. The Washington, Ind. product played 36 games as a sophomore and averaged a team-best 16.5 points and 8.1 rebounds for IU in 2012-13.  His 594 points that year were the 19th-most in a single-season in IU history. Playing for Team Takeover on the Nike EYBL Circuit, Moody led all players at the 2025 Peach Jam, shooting 50% (9-of-18) from three.  He averaged 10.4 points and 3.6 assists.
