Hood-Schifino was the 2023 Big Ten Freshman of the Year at IU, and just completed his second year in the NBA. Assembly Ball, the Indiana alumni team hosting The Basketball Tournament’s (TBT) regional alongside All Good Dawgs (Butler Alumni) at the Hinkle Fieldhouse from July 19-22, today announced the roster addition of Indiana alumnus Race Thompson. Thompson returns after playing with the team in 2024 and joins Yogi Ferrell, James Blackmon Jr., and Troy Williams as the first four roster commitments for the 2025 Assembly Ball squad. Indiana men’s basketball alumnus Kel’el Ware was voted to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon. He was the top vote-getter on the second team. Ware, the 15th pick in the 2024 first round pick by the Miami Heat, made 36 starts across 64 appearances in his rookie season. He averaged 9.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.1 blocked shots in 22.2 minutes per game. He shot 55.4% from the floor. North Florida transfer wing Jasai Miles joined the East 17th Street podcast to discuss his decision to transfer to Indiana and basketball journey. Miles announced his commitment to Indiana during an official visit to Bloomington on April 16. The 6-foot-6 Miles started all 32 games for North Florida in 2024-25 and averaged 15.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists on 42.5 percent shooting from the field including 33.5 percent from three in 31.4 minutes.
