Romeo Langford missed Thursday’s game against Evansville Central with a finger injury. The math for him to catch IU great Damon Bailey is very challenging now. Langford would need New Albany to advance to the state championship game and he would have to average 40 points a game along the way. While catching Bailey now seems highly unlikely, we’ll continue to monitor his progress along the way to see where he ends up. Bailey is the current all-time scoring leader at 3,134 points. Langford appears likely to pass a couple other IU greats soon: Alan Henderson and James Blackmon, Jr.…
GAME NOTES: The Indiana Hoosiers (7-6) conclude the pre-conference portion of their schedule on Friday night as they host the Youngstown State Penguins (2-10) at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington. Tip-off is set for 8:00 PM. The game will be broadcast on BTN with Brandon Gaudin & Bob Wentzel on the call. This will be the first ever game between the two programs. Youngstown State will most likely be the lowest ranked team the Hoosiers face all season in the KenPom rankings, sitting at 330th out of 351 teams nationally. KenPom has IU as a 21 point favorite with…

Archie Miller gave a brief press conference with the media coming off of a holiday break and looking forward to Youngstown State and Big Ten play. Highlights of his comments and the full video are below: The team came back fresh coming out of the break. It was good to get in multiple practices. Anticipates a lot less practice time once the Big Ten grind begins. Most of practice time was spent on self-improvement rather than Youngstown State/Wisconsin. Looking to push the staff and players to compete and be driven and goal oriented. Justin Smith and Al Durham were highlighted…
The NFL draft begins on April 26, 2018 in Arlington, Texas. Several former Indiana football players are either likely to be drafted or signed as free agents. We will monitor their draft projections over the next several months. We’ve received several questions regarding who is likely to be drafted and/or end up on a NFL practice squad next year. It is still early in the draft process with most bowl games and the combine still forthcoming. Many major draft services have yet to release a full mock draft for all rounds. Nevertheless, we have found some lesser known mock drafts…
Romeo Langford scored 34 points on Friday night as the New Albany Bulldogs (7-1) beat Pike 61-55. New Albany won their 33rd straight home game in front of another sellout crowd. While it is an uphill battle to reach Damon Bailey at the top, Langford is on a historic journey through the Indiana boys high school basketball all-time scoring list. We’ll continue to monitor his progress along the way. Bailey is the current all-time scoring leader at 3,134 points. Langford appears likely to pass a couple other IU greats soon: Alan Henderson and James Blackmon, Jr. Below we have charted…
The 2017 Indiana University football season didn’t end how Hoosier fans hoped. At 5-7 IU missed an opportunity to be bowl eligible for the third straight year, gave the Old Oaken Bucket back to Purdue, and failed to “break through” under new Head Coach Tom Allen. The season was not a complete loss however, and with a better than normal 2018 recruiting class and many players returning next year, especially on offense, there is reason to be cautiously optimistic. The 2018 schedule even let’s up a little as well, although the usual B1G East suspects are still there of course.…
The Indiana University women’s basketball team begins Big Ten play at home against Michigan State on Thursday, December 28. The game will tipoff at 7 p.m. at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Indiana native (Seymour) Teri Moren is in her fourth season leading the Hoosier women’s basketball team in 2017-18. Coming into the season the main question for the Hoosiers was who from the supporting cast would step up and be the key contributors behind senior leaders Tyra Buss and Amanda Cahill. Most predictions had the Hoosiers as a middle of the pack team in the Big Ten conference. If the…
