Indiana will be taking on someone other than Duke in the 2019 Big Ten / ACC Challenge. After facing the Blue Devils in each of the last two years, the Hoosiers will face the Florida State Seminoles in this year’s event. The Indianapolis based NCAA is not doing the IU basketball program any favors. After shooting 31.2% (311th nationally) in 2018-19 from long range, and 32.2% (307th nationally) in 2017-18, the Hoosiers will now have to hoist three-pointers from more than a foot further away from the basket. The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel approved moving the 3-point line from 20 feet, 9 inches to 22 feet, 1¾ inches. The new distance is consistent with international rules and will be effective for the upcoming season. The longer distance was tested during the postseason NIT.
