Assembly Ball, the Indiana alumni team hosting The Basketball Tournament’s (TBT) regional alongside All Good Dawgs (Butler alumni) at Hinkle Fieldhouse from July 19–22, announced the roster addition of Indiana alumnus Jordan Hulls. Hulls joins Race Thompson, Yogi Ferrell, James Blackmon Jr. and Troy Williams as the first five roster commitments for Assembly Ball. Additional players will be announced in the coming weeks. If Indiana is going to keep Fort Wayne, Ind. wideout Jerquaden Guilford in the state, they’re going to have beat out three of college football’s other national power schools. Guilford is down to a final four of Ohio State, Michigan, Indiana, and Ole Miss, he announced on Friday. The 6-foot-2 and 190-pound Guilford is going to announce his final decision on June 27. Guilford is a former Penn State commit who runs a 4.47 40-yard dash. Narrowing down Bill Mallory’s seasons to include on this list wasn’t easy. The 1991 season is the first of three campaigns led by the program’s all-time winningest coach that appear in the top ten.  It made the cut over the 1993 season for one reason — the non conference schedule. Indiana’s current nine-game Big Ten schedule today had nothing on 1991. That year Indiana played a power conference opponent every single week of the season, including a Dec. 31 appearance in the Copper Bowl against Baylor. A massive December Saturday in downtown Indianapolis is set. Serving as the opening act for the Big Ten football championship game Saturday evening at Lucas Oil Stadium, IU basketball and Louisville will tip at 2 p.m. ET inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday, Dec. 6. When class of 2026 edge rusher Kevontay Hugan took an official visit at IU this weekend he was a Louisville commit. But on Wednesday afternoon Hugan announced he was backing off that verbal pledge he made in March. And hours later, Hugan announced he has committed to Indiana. The 6-foot-3 and 235-pound Hugan attends Booker H.S. in Sarasota, Fla.  As a junior for Booker, Hugan produced118 tackles, 36 of which were for a loss, as well as 18 sacks. If Indiana is going to compete with Ohio State in the Big Ten, it would be helpful to beat the Buckeyes for some recruits from time-to-time. Enter class of 2026 quarterback Luke Fahey.  A Big Ten battle is shaping up for the coveted signal-caller. The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel on Tuesday approved changes they say will help enhance the flow of the game in men’s basketball for the 2025-26 season. Changes include a coach’s challenge at any point in a game to review out-of-bounds calls, basket interference/goaltending and whether a secondary defender was in the restricted-area arc. The panel also approved modifications to the rule on continuous motion on field goal attempts. Indiana received a verbal commitment Tuesday from Ohio linebacker Ja’Dyn Williams. Williams attends Washington H.S. in Massillon, Ohio. Indiana is getting a visit from 7-foot-3 Italian center Luigi Suigo next week, June 17. That’s according to a report by Joe Tipton of On3. Suigo is visiting Purdue the day before.  He visited Illinois in February.  Tipton is also reporting BYU, Kentucky, Louisville, and Texas A&M are among the other schools involved. Suigo is in the class of 2026 and not currently ranked.  He’s a 4-star prospect according to Tipton. If emotions were the only criteria, the 2007 IU football season would surely vault to the top of this list.  To properly tell the story, you have to go back a few years. Terry Hoeppner was named IU’s 26th head football coach on December 17, 2004.  His infectious energy soon took hold, and after a 4-1 start to the 2005 season, it appeared that the program might be on its way to finally turning things around.
