Indiana has filled one of its remaining 2025-26 roster openings with Serbian guard Aleksa Ristic. That news comes via Arman Jovic and Ristic’s scout, Stevan Petrovic. The 6-foot-4 Ristic is averaging 13.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game on 51.3% shooting including 39.6% from three, and 86% at the stripe in the Basketball League of Serbia, Jovic reports.  He plays for KK Dynamic in the top-level league in Serbia. The Seattle Storm announced today that free agent forward Mackenzie Holmes has signed with the team. The former IU star was with Seattle throughout training camp and played in the team’s only preseason game against Connecticut on May 4. In that game Holmes scored nine points on 80% (4-for-5) shooting from the field and recorded eight rebounds and three blocks, tied for the most blocked shots by any player in a game this preseason. Indiana offered class of 2027 wing Marcus Spears, Jr. over the weekend. According to the average of the national rankings, the 6-foot-7 Spears, Jr. is a 5-star and the No. 9 overall player in the 2027 class.  He attends Dynamic Prep in Texas, a program coached by former Pacers star Jermaine O’Neal. Spears, Jr. is the son of former Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman and current ESPN analyst Marcus Spears. His mom is Aiysha (Smith) Spears played basketball at LSU before becoming the No. 7 overall pick, to the Washington Mystics in the 2003 WNBA Draft. Spears, Jr. helped lead Team…

Penn State verbal pledge Lavar Keys surprised folks when it became public he was on an official visit at Indiana over the weekend. A wide receiver at DeMatha H.S. in Maryland, Keys has been committed to Penn State since last summer.  He had 63 catches and 13 touchdowns as a junior. The 5-foot-11 Keys is a 3-star according to the industry average, and the No. 120 receiver in the 2026 class.  On his X bio he reports a 4.32 40-yard dash. Coaches are able to directly contact class of 2027 prospects as of June 15, so activity in the rising junior class is starting to increase. That included a call and an offer from the IU staff to 2027 point guard Nasir Anderson. Anderson is a consensus top-40 4-star in the 2027 class, and a consensus national top-10 point guard. The 6-foot-2 Anderson attends Norcross H.S. in Norcross, Ga.  Still just 15, he’s originally from Savannah, Ga. The 1942 Indiana Hoosiers were no doubt one of the better teams in IU football program history.  But their inclusion here is as much about what could have been — and paying homage to what wasn’t. Coming into the 1942 season, IU hadn’t won more than five games in a year since 1910.  Head coach Bo McMillin was .500 or better in his first four years in Bloomington from 1934 to 1937, but the program struggled for the next four years and didn’t finish better than sixth place in the Big Ten during those latter four seasons. During his official visit, in-state class of 2026 offensive lineman C.J. Scifres announced his commitment to Indiana on Saturday. The 6-foot-6 and 325-pound Scifres attends Center Grove H.S. in Greenwood, Ind. Scifres is a 3-star and the No. 175 interior offensive lineman in the rising senior class according to 247Sports. Indiana has formally entered the mix with an offer to one of the top guards in the 2026 class, New York-based point guard Deron Rippey, Jr. Rippey reported the offer on his Instagram page. The 6-foot-2 Rippey is from Brooklyn, N.Y. and attends Blair Academy in New Jersey, where he was named that state’s Gatorade Player of the Year this past season.  He led the Bucs to a 24-4 record and the Prep Open State Tournament title as well as the Mid-Atlantic Prep tournament championship this past season. Indiana has extended an offer to one of the biggest risers of the spring, guard Kohl Rosario. The 6-foot-5 Rosario played in front of the IU staff at the NBPA Top-100 Camp this week. Rosario is in the 2026 class but is currently contemplating a reclassification to 2025.  Indiana has two open spots on the roster at the moment, pending waiver decisions for Luke Goode and Anthony Leal.  Rosario is currently 18.
