With IU playing on Friday night, the calendar lines up perfectly for those wanting to see several of the Hoosiers’ top in-state recruiting targets and commits all in one place. The annual Forum Tip-Off Classic is being held at Southport High School on the south side of Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon and evening. The event features six games, two players that have signed to play for Indiana next year, three players that IU has offered, and others that are on the Hoosier radar. The last time Nebraska came to Bloomington, a once promising season started to crumble. Already on a two game losing streak, but still 12-4, the Hoosiers needed a win in January over the Cornhuskers before heading out on the road for four of their next five contests. Instead, Nebraska scored the first nine points of the game and extended their lead to 25-7 midway through the first half. While the Indiana football program has established a nice pipeline of talent that flows north to Bloomington, that hasn’t always come at the expense of Southeastern Conference programs. In fact, some Hoosier players hailing from the south were completely ignored by the football powerhouse conference. Since before the season started Indiana head coach Archie Miller has repeatedly stated that the depth and balance on this 2019-20 Indiana basketball team was perhaps its greatest strength. But at IU’s media day in late September, Miller also said this: “As the head coach, I look at our point guards in a very different manner than I do all other positions.
