Former Indiana big man Thomas Bryant is back with the Washington Wizards and practicing with the team in Orlando as the NBA gets set to resume action later this month.  Below he discusses his health, conditioning, the resumption of the season, and more. The 6-foot-10 Bryant was averaging career bests in points (12.1) and rebounds (6.8) per game before the season was postponed. Class of 2022 Indiana offer recipient D’Ante Davis gave a lengthy video Q&A session with Zach Schumaker. Davis had very nice things to say about IU during the interview. “It’s a blessing to be able to get a scholarship offer from IU,” Davis said.  “It would be amazing (to play there).  They gave me a virtual visit.  I loved it.” Of course that is just a sampling of Davis’ remarks. Boston Celtics rookie Romeo Langford met with the media on Friday to discuss preparations for the resumption of the NBA season.  The Celtics are scheduled to play again for the first time since March when they take on Milwaukee on July 31 in Orlando. Langford has appeared in 27 games thus far during his rookie season in Boston.  The 6-foot-6 Langford is averaging 2.6 points and 1.2 rebounds per contest in 11 minutes of action.  Langford is shooting 37.5 percent from the field overall including 21.7 percent from behind the three-point arc. The Indiana football program has paused voluntary workouts as a result of six individual within the program testing positive for COVID-19. The pause in football does not impact any of the other Indiana athletic programs currently conducting activities on campus including men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, and field hockey. The IU women’s basketball program announced on Friday that its first head has passed away. Bea Gorton led the Hoosiers from 1972 to 1976 and was inducted into the IU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014.  Gorton was 73 years old. Tight end Peyton Hendershot became the third member of the Indiana offense to be named to a preseason watch list this week. The Friends of John Mackey released the 2020 John Mackey Award preseason watch list on Friday. Given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end, the award recipient is selected by vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee. Hendershot was one 36 tight ends around the country to be included.
