Losers of four in a row, it feels like now or never for Indiana. With just four more games remaining on their home court, the Hoosiers need to win five more games to get to .500 in the Big Ten. While a sub .500 mark in the deepest conference in the country might not preclude an NCAA Tournament invite, IU obviously cannot fall much farther. Each opponent that remains on the schedule is ranked No. 31 or better according to KenPom, and IU is only predicted to win two more games according to that service. With a player that many…
UPDATE: Several reports now indicate that Burton has had a change of heart and will remain with Michigan State. https://twitter.com/mattcharboneau/status/1228669020834062337?s=20 The original story follows. The Indiana football program will reportedly be bringing in someone with a highly impressive track record to replace outgoing defensive line coach Mark Hagen. And like Hagen, Ron Burton knows the way to Bloomington. Several outlets have reported on social media that IU is expected to hire Michigan State defensive line coach Ron Burton to replace Hagen. Hagen left to join the staff at Texas last week. Burton, a 28-year coaching veteran who also played four…
Indiana fans have a relatively easy time keeping up on the two in-state members of the 2020 recruiting class. Meanwhile, 1,000 miles away in Concord, New Hampshire, Jordan Geronimo continues to put his name on the map. And his rapid development into an elite basketball player can be seen even over the course of his senior season at St. Paul’s School. Both his team and Geronimo got off to a slow start out of the gate, but a corner has been turned. For the 6-foot-6 Geronimo, things started to change when he realized that he could help his team more…

The Indiana football program appears to be in a good position to build on its memorable 2019 season. After the Hoosiers’ first season with at least eight wins since 1993, most of the roster will be back in 2020 to try to keep the momentum going. ESPN staff writer Bill Connelly produced his annual analysis of the college football teams with the most returning production. According to Connelly, IU leads the Big Ten East division in that regard, and it has the 11th most returning production in the country. Returning production is not a measure of returning starters, but instead…
Linda Taylor has been sitting in the stands at Assembly Hall for 39 years. She has seen an IU team or two. From the band, to the cheerleaders to the team, Taylor’s perception of what is going on inside the building on game day is likely almost second nature at this point. And Taylor, like many Indiana fans, can tell that something isn’t right with this 2019-20 Indiana basketball team. And the team before that. “As a fan in the stands for 39 years what I see the last two years is that team comes out of that locker room…

While it feels like IU football just left Jacksonville and The Gator Bowl, the Hoosiers will begin practicing soon as they prepare to build on their memorable 2019 season. Teams are permitted 15 spring practices within a 34-day window under the NCAA’s rules. While Indiana has not released the precise date that they will begin practicing, that should commence in the next few weeks, followed by their annual intra-squad game at Memorial Stadium. Indiana will once again go with a Friday night approach for their annual Cream and Crimson game. The contest is scheduled for Friday, April 17 at 7…
Yes, that is one hot, steamy, loaded headline. But it isn’t hyperbole. Unfortunate timing? Yes, perhaps it is on the heels of one of the more feel good moments in the history of the Indiana program this weekend as legendary head coach Bob Knight returned to Assembly Hall at halftime on Saturday. But that memorable moment was surrounded by two halves of entirely forgettable IU basketball. And while Knight’s return on Saturday healed a lot of wounds, it should not be confused in any way with helping the current product that IU is putting on the court. The loss on…
