Illinois All-Big Ten First Team defensive back Xavier Scott is unlikely to play against Indiana on Saturday according to head coach Bret Bielema. The star cornerback suffered an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Illinois’ 38-0 win over Western Michigan last weekend. “He had a doctor’s appointment on Tuesday. A big football weekend in Bloomington always makes for an attractive weekend for basketball visitors. And one of the top guards in the class of 2027, Missouri-based Chase Branham, will be on campus for an official visit. Based on the average of the national recruiting sites, Branham is the No. 42 overall player in the 2027 class, and the No. 12 shooting guard. Both Indiana and Illinois will have their hands full dealing with talented quarterbacks on Saturday. In fact, it’s quite staggering how similar IU quarterback Fernando Mendoza’s stat line through three games is to Illinois’ Luke Altmyer. Mendoza has completed 55 of 76 passes (72.4%) for 708 yards with nine touchdowns and no interceptions.  Meanwhile, Altmyer has completed 56 of 78 throws (71.8%) for 709 yards with eight touchdowns and no interceptions. Indiana basketball has made what is likely their final adjustments to the roster, with the measurements you’ll see throughout the 2025-26 campaign. In terms of changes, there’s not too much here that’s headline worthy, but here are a few things that catch the eye: Trent Sisley is built like a veteran. The 2025 NFL season is underway, and six former Hoosiers saw the field in week two. Here’s a quick overview of how they performed. Cam Jones – New York Jets Jones played 20 special teams snaps in week two on four different units.  He had a tackle and earned a good special teams grade on PFF. Things appear to be moving fast with Indiana and 2026 point guard Anthony Brown. After IU basketball offered the Washington D.C. 4-star last week, he plans to visit Bloomington next week according to a report by Sam Kayser.  This comes after head coach Darian DeVries and assistant Kenny Johnson visited Brown on Monday according to Colby Giacubeno. The 6-foot-1 Brown is coming off a breakout Nike EYBL spring and summer season in which he averaged 18.9 points. 4.7 assists, and 3.5 rebounds while leading Team Durant to the final eight at the Peach Jam. Saturday will mark that second-ever game in the Indiana vs. Illinois series where both teams were ranked.  In this week’s AP Poll, Indiana is No. 19 and Illinois is No. 9. After he equaled the Indiana football program record for receiving touchdowns in a single game, redshirt junior wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. was selected as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday. Cooper Jr. piled up four touchdown grabs to equal the program’s single-game mark of James Hardy versus Michigan State in 2006. His touchdown grabs went for 13, 13, 31 and 58 yards, while eight of his 10 receptions accounted for a touchdown or a first down. The 24 points scored are tied for No. 3 on the single-game scoring…

As is the case each season, the Big Ten is rolling out kick times and television designations a couple weeks ahead of each game. Indiana and Iowa will kick at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 27 in Iowa City, the league office announced today. The game will be streamed exclusively on Peacock. IU football running back Lee Beebe, Jr. has been lost for the season due to a non-contact knee injury, head coach Curt Cignetti announced on Monday. Beebe, Jr. suffered the injury on Friday while carrying the ball during the second half of Indiana’s 73-0 win over Indiana State. He fell to the ground as he ran to the left towards the IU sideline and immediately grabbed his knee. Beebe, Jr. rushed 27 times for 209 yards and a touchdown this season. A redshirt junior, Beebe, Jr. was eligible to return in 2026 irrespective of this injury.  He already took a…
