The Cleveland Cavaliers’ injuries have become former IU star Yogi Ferrell’s latest opportunity. The Cavaliers have signed Ferrell to a 10-day contract, the team announced on Monday. Cleveland was granted a hardship exception by the NBA in order to acquire Ferrell. The hardship exception is a temporary roster spot granted by the league. It allows a team to exceed the 15-man maximum roster when it has at least four players who are sick or injured for longer than two weeks. Indiana will welcome a very recent foe to Bloomington for the 2021 season. The Hoosiers picked up a commitment from Mississippi graduate transfer defensive end Ryder Anderson on Friday night. Anderson announced his decision on his Twitter page. “I’m very excited and blessed to announce that I am committed to play my final year of eligibility at Indiana!” Anderson said in the Twitter post. The IU football program got a pleasant bit of Friday evening news as first team All-Big Ten and third-team All American receiver Ty Fryfogle announced his return for the 2021 season. For months there has been talk of the coming “Wild West” college basketball offseason. The early markers of what is in store seem to be emerging.
