Former IU great Jay Edwards joined A.J. Guyton on the House of Hoosier Podcast this week. Known best for his clutch shooting, Edwards scored 1,038 points in just two seasons at Indiana.  He was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 1988 after averaging 15.6 points per contest.  In 1989 Edwards earned All-American honors as he averaged 20 points per game and helped lead IU to a Big Ten championship. Early in the first half, Iowa was shredding Indiana’s defense. The Hawkeyes made their first four shots, scored on their first five possessions, made four of their first 7 3-pointers and were 10 of 17 from the field at the 11:23 mark of the first half. At one point during the onslaught Nick Bahe, the FS1 color commentator, seemed to disparage the pack-line defense as he recalled looking forward to facing the scheme during his sharpshooting days at Creighton. Iowa’s fast start fit the narratives coming into the game.  The Hawkeyes had the nation’s No. 1 offense in terms of…

No one anticipated ten-point underdog Indiana’s stunning 81-69 upset of No. 4 Iowa before the game, and that outcome looked far less likely with 12 minutes left when the Hawkeyes had pulled out to a 53-44 advantage. IU flipped the switch at just the right moment in the game, securing a critical confidence and resume boosting victory at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.  And now Indiana hopes they found the propellent towards something else they haven’t done since 2016 — the NCAA Tournament. Indiana (9-6, 4-4) will have a short turnaround. …

IU coach Archie Miller confirmed the reports on his pre-game radio spot, stating Galloway has been dealing with back soreness since the Purdue game. Hailing from Culver, Ind., Galloway has appeared in all 14 games, starting seven times…

IU spent much of its week off trying to fix a perimeter defense that has allowed 41.2 percent 3-point shooting over the last eight games.  Those efforts will be immediately tested.  Five Hawkeyes shoot better than 40 percent from long range, and they are just under…
