Indiana has placed a heavy emphasis on the frontcourt with its offers in the class of 2022, and one of the first in the class to hear from the Hoosiers was Chicago product A.J. Casey. Indiana offered Casey back in June of 2020, and since then assistant coach Kenya Hunter has transitioned to his primary point of contact. Casey is a 4-star according to the 247Sports Composite. In the class of 2022 he is currently ranked No. 21 nationally, the No. 5 power forward, and the No. 1 player in Illinois. Although he hasn’t cut his list in any way,…

With a change at the top, Indiana is understandably recalibrating everything within the program. When it comes to recruiting targets, that means taking a fresh look at who has been offered a scholarship to this point, as well assessing the top available prospects still on the board. With two new assistant coaches on the the staff in Yasir Rosemond and Dane Fife, IU now has connections it didn’t have, and in large part because of that we’ve seen a wave of class of 2022 offers over the last few weeks. With clear mutual interest when Archie Miller was still the…
If head coach Mike Woodson is serious about getting his offense moving downhill with velocity, he may have just found his man in class of 2022 point guard Seth Trimble. Trimble is off to a fast start playing AAU basketball this spring, and on Monday night he announced an offer from Indiana on his Twitter page. https://twitter.com/daily_hoosier/status/1386840747182276608?s=20 Trimble is currently ranked No. 78 overall in the class of 2022 according to the 247Sports Composite. He is the No. 14 point guard nationally in the class and the top player in Wisconsin according to that same service. He is the younger…
If you take a quick look at Indiana’s projected 2022-23 roster based on scholarship numbers, you might conclude that the Hoosiers don’t have room for additions from the high school ranks in the class of 2022. It is true that IU presently has all of the 13 available scholarships accounted for looking forward to 2022-23, plus an additional player in verbal commit C.J. Gunn. But this is the era of roster turnover, and without speculating on names, it seems sensible to project that all 14 won’t be around in a year. The Indiana basketball coaching staff is certainly operating as…

Jalen Washington’s story to this point in his basketball career is as much about perseverance as anything else. The Gary, Ind. product lost a significant portion of his freshman season of high school basketball with an injury, and all of his sophomore season with a torn ACL. The latter injury also cost him an entire spring and summer of AAU basketball in 2020, although with the pandemic in full effect then, what he lost did not resemble the typical high level shoe circuit competition. Only now is Washington’s class of 2022 Nike EYBL Meanstreets team seeing some of the best…
