In the midst of a program renaissance, Indiana will honor its last memorable era later this month. On Sept. 18 when IU faces Cincinnati the Hoosiers will wear uniforms reminiscent of those worn by some of the late Coach Bill Mallory’s best teams from 1987 to 1996. As the winningest coach in IU Football history, Mallory enjoyed tremendous success during the decade that these uniforms were worn in the 1980s and 1990s. Indiana had a historic season in 2020, and they did it without fans in the stands. The combination of a much improved IU football program and pent-up demand for attending games has led to the first sellout at Memorial Stadium in over four years. IU Athletics announced on Friday the Sept. 18 home game against No. 8 Cincinnati is sold out. The current capacity of the 61 year-old stadium is 52,656. Indiana has dipped into the overseas market for its latest class of 2023 recruiting target. On Thursday the Hoosiers extended a scholarship offer to Finland’s Miro Little. Sophomore All-American forward Trayce Jackson-Davis, the leading returning scorer in the Big Ten, has been named first-team 2021-22 Preseason All-American by Athlon Sports according to a release from IU Athletics. Jackson-Davis started all 27 games last season and was the only high major player to average at least 19 points and 9 rebounds during the 2021-22 campaign.
