Indiana fumbled the ball on a zone read exchange on the second play of the game on Saturday at Iowa. “Not ideal, not good,” IU offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan said of the play on Monday after having a chance to review the film of the 34-6 debacle at Iowa City. Indiana head coach Tom Allen expressed concerns about the well-being of starting safety Devon Matthews on Saturday after he left the game with an injury that appeared to impact his mobility, at least momentarily. Matthews was injured on a tackle where his helmet made leading impact with a receiver, and he struggled to move briefly on the field before walking off after a minute or two.  The Jacksonville, Fla. native stayed behind in Iowa City for further evaluation at a local hospital, and IU sent his mother to be with him. Indiana head coach Tom Allen had some fun with a bizarre situation that played out on Saturday in Iowa City. As you have likely seen by now, freshman running back David Holloman ran out onto the Kinnick Stadium field with a jersey that had “Indinia” emblazoned across the chest plate rather than Indiana. A photo of Holloman’s jersey, which was first published by the Indiana Athletics Twitter page before it was deleted, went viral during IU’s disappointing 34-6 loss to the Hawkeyes after several people noticed the misspelling and grabbed a screen shot.
