A member of the IU basketball family is struggling with a devastating disease. Four year men’s basketball manager Andy Murphy is afflicted with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, and his family is asking for support. As a student at IU, Murphy was a four year roommate in Bloomington of former point guard Michael Lewis in the late ’90s and early 2000s. Indiana continued a run of high level commitments on Friday afternoon when class of 2022 3-star defensive end Richard Thomas committed to play for the Hoosiers. Thomas is listed as the No. 399 overall player in the 2022 class and the No. 26 strong-side defensive end according to the 247Sports Composite. Indiana University men’s basketball coach Mike Woodson has announced that redshirt sophomore wing Jerome Hunter will not return next season. “We appreciate everything that Jerome has done as a member of the program and wish him nothing but the best in the future,” said Woodson in a release by the school. Hailing from Pickerington, Ohio, Hunter arrived in Bloomington as part of the class of 2018.
