A member of the IU basketball family is struggling with a devastating disease. Four year men’s basketball manager Andy Murphy is afflicted with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, and his family is asking for support. As a student at IU, Murphy was a four year roommate in Bloomington of former point guard Michael Lewis in the late ’90s and early 2000s. The expectations are high for IU football in 2021 after one of the more memorable seasons in program history. Indiana continued a run of high level commitments on Friday afternoon when class of 2022 3-star defensive end Richard Thomas committed to play for the Hoosiers. Thomas is listed as the No. 399 overall player in the 2022 class and the No. 26 strong-side defensive end according to the 247Sports Composite. Updating the scholarship has become a full-time job in recent weeks. Here is the latest look at Indiana’s projected rosters over the next four seasons after today’s news that redshirt sophomore forward Jerome Hunter will not be back with the team. This latest development gives IU one opening to work with for the 2021-22 season, and it means the Hoosiers are no longer over capacity for the 2022-23 season. Indiana University men’s basketball coach Mike Woodson has announced that redshirt sophomore wing Jerome Hunter will not return next season. “We appreciate everything that Jerome has done as a member of the program and wish him nothing but the best in the future,” said Woodson in a release by the school. Hailing from Pickerington, Ohio, Hunter arrived in Bloomington as part of the class of 2018.  Prior to his freshman season he suffered a medical condition in his lower legs that required surgery and cost him the entire 2018-19 campaign. Indiana University and Old Dominion University announced on Wednesday afternoon their football programs will meet at Memorial Stadium to kick off the 2025 season on Aug. 30. It will mark the first meeting between the two schools. The Monarchs are the Hoosiers third and final 2025 non-conference opponent.
