Twelve games into the season and with the nonconference schedule complete, an identity is forming for Mike Woodson’s first Indiana team. While no questions are answered until they emerge from the conference meat grinder, it seems clear to the eye that these Hoosiers are stylistically different than the prior regime, and of course the roster has changed significantly as well. Indiana still won’t be at full strength on Sunday when it travels to Penn State. Sophomore guard Trey Galloway is close to returning from a broken wrist he suffered on Nov. 17 against St. John’s, but he won’t be in the rotation when the Hoosiers face the Nittany Lions at 4 p.m. Eastern (BTN) in University Park. It has been a couple weeks since Indiana head coach Tom Allen said he wanted to add both a transfer and class of 2022 quarterback to his roster for the upcoming season. Several former IU basketball players are continuing their careers overseas. Here is a quick overview of who is still active and where they are playing for the 2021-22 season. James Blackmon, Jr. – Turkey:  Blackmon is with Pınar Karşıyaka in the Turkish Super League where he is averaging 9.1 points.  Blackmon, Jr. is a career 40.3 percent 3-point shooter during his 4-year career in Europe that previously included time in Italy.  He first spent time in the G-League after his college career. Finnish guard Miro Little has set up three visits in January as he begins to narrow his recruitment. The 6-foot-4 Little will visit Baylor, Villanova and Indiana over a week-long stretch. Indiana’s game against UNC Asheville scheduled for Wednesday evening has been canceled, IU Athletics announced on Tuesday. The Big Ten Conference has modified its forfeiture policy for 2021-22 men’s and women’s league basketball games it announced in a release on Tuesday afternoon. Following a trend established by other conferences, the Big Ten will now endeavor to play games involving teams with positive COVID-19 cases rather than require forfeiture, provided that teams have a minimum threshold of scholarship players available. It’s no secret, Indiana has struggled to play a complete game through the first 12 contests of the Mike Woodson era. The Hoosiers were +24 against Northern Kentucky in the first half, and then -6 in the second.  They were +17 at Wisconsin before the break and then -22.  Against St. John’s IU was +12 in the first, -10 in the second.  And against Eastern Michigan IU was +17 in the first, -11 in the second.
