He replaces Kevin Peoples, who left to take the same position at Missouri.  Randolph will work under new defensive coordinator Chad Wilt, who is expected to coach the linebackers.…

Count Mike Woodson among the IU basketball fans who popped open a bottle of champagne last night. Two college basketball teams entered Tuesday with an undefeated record, and both — USC and Baylor — suffered their first defeats of the season. Indiana’s 1976 team was the last to finish a season without a loss of course, and many celebrate each year when the final undefeated team loses. Woodson is one of them. “I know records are meant to be broken, but that’s one record I would never want to see broken,” Woodson said on Wednesday during a Zoom media availability.…

Indiana will still open the 2022 season against a Big Ten West opponent at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, but that foe will no longer be Northwestern. The Big Ten announced a modified 2022 schedule on Wednesday afternoon.  The primary change impacting IU was swapping out Northwestern in that week one slot and replacing them with Illinois. There were no others changes to Indiana’s 2022 opponents, although the weeks of some games have been changed.  Specifically, a Nov. 12 home game against Michigan has been moved up to Oct. 8, the Maryland home game previously on Oct. 8 is now on…

While much is made of starting lineups in basketball, closing lineups often paint a clearer picture of where a head coach’s mind is at relates to the five he trusts most to go win the game. Through 15 games of his college coaching career, IU’s Mike Woodson has only departed from his starting five of Trayce Jackson-Davis, Race Thompson, Miller Kopp, Parker Stewart and Xavier Johnson once, and that ostensibly related to a punishment rather than anything performance related. But over the last two games, only three of the first five have had major roles in the last ten minutes…

By narrowing down to three schools fairly close to home, he got the relatively easy part out of the way. Now comes the hard part. Step one for class of 2023 center Austin Parks after cutting his list to Indiana, Ohio State and West Virginia on Friday was a road trip to Bloomington. Parks had been to Indiana over the summer to meet the staff and check out the facilities, but his Sunday unofficial visit was all about experiencing an IU basketball game day and watching head coach Mike Woodson’s system and program in action. The 6-foot-10 and 240 pound…

Minnesota defensive line coach Chad Wilt is leaving to take a “prominent” position at Indiana, according to Gopher Illustrated’s Ryan Burns. “It’s expected that Wilt will have the title of defensive coordinator in some capacity at Indiana,” according to the report. Wilt has coached defensive line for more than a decade, meaning he could take on that recently vacated role as well in addition to any coordinator duties. It has been announced in the last few days that both defensive coordinator Charlton Warren and defensive line coach Kevin Peoples have departed the Indiana program. Minnesota’s run defense ranked No. 8…
