Knight would go on to call the building home for 30 years and lead the Hoosiers to three national titles. A new entry etched in the IU record books was somewhat lost in the ugliness that was Indiana’s 54-7 loss to Ohio State on Saturday in Bloomington. Donaven McCulley has been taking reps in practice as the backup quarterback since Michael Penix went down three weeks ago. But that wasn’t enough time to have him ready for the challenge that awaited on Saturday night when Jack Tuttle went down. Indiana forward Trayce Jackson-Davis was named to the preseason AP All-American first team on Monday. The 6-foot-9 forward is joined by Illinois’ Kofi Cockburn, UCLA guard Johnny Juzang, Villanova guard Collin Gillespie, and Gonzaga forward Drew Timme. The Greenwood, Ind. product was the only high major player to average at least 19 points and 9 rebounds last season. Indiana quarterback Jack Tuttle has joined Michael Penix with a “week-to-week” label according to head coach Tom Allen on Monday at his regular Monday press conference. “Don’t know as of right now his (Tuttle’s) status, same with Michael (Penix) he’s still week-to-week,” Allen said.
