Purdue head coach Matt Painter passed the Archie Miller era with flying colors. In fact, he aced it with a perfect 7-0 record against IU over the last four seasons. So if Indiana has anything going for it against the No. 4 Boilermakers on Thursday (7 p.m. / FS1), the element of unfamiliarity might be at the top of the list. While Painter had Miller’s number, he has never faced new IU head coach Mike Woodson, someone the 17-year Boilermakers coach and Indiana native has said he watched and emulated as a young boy. What does Painter see as different…

Head coach Mike Woodson said today Jackson-Davis is on pace to play in the rivalry game at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Indiana head coach Tom Allen made it clear a month ago — he wants to add a quarterback to the 2022 recruiting class after losing former commit Josh Hoover to Texas Christian. Since then one high school senior the Hoosiers have been focused on his Florida-based quarterback Davin Wydner. The head coach of the Cocoa, Fla. (Cocoa H.S.) product tells The Daily Hoosier new Indiana offensive coordinator Walt Bell is in Florida today to meet Wydner and watch him throw. The 6-foot-5-inch senior led the Tigers to the Class 4A State Championship Game in 2021 after leaving Melbourne (Fla.) Holy…
No. 5/6 Indiana is going to have some time off. Ultimately, that may prove beneficial. Over the last two days the IU women’s program has announced the postponement of its previously scheduled games at home against Michigan State on Jan. 19 and at Iowa on Jan. 23. In both cases IU cited “COVID-19 protocols within the Indiana program” as the reason for the postponements. The three programs will actively work with the Big Ten Conference to find rescheduled dates to play the games. Indiana does not have anything longer than a four-day layoff between scheduled games for the remainder of…
