With Indiana’s offseason roster changes behind us, we bring back our annual tradition of taking a closer look at the players expected to return to the program. Next up is Jordan Geronimo, who is training for his third year with IU basketball. Indiana has offered New York based class of 2024 5-star point guard Boogie Fland, according to a report by Eric Bossi, a national analyst with 247Sports. Fland’s given first name is Johnuel but he is commonly known as Boogie, a nickname he earned because of his dance moves as a young boy. According to the 247Sports Composite, Fland is a 5-star, the No. 13 overall player in the 2024 class, and the No. 2 point guard.  He is the first point guard IU has offered in the 2024 class. The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame announced on Monday the names for the 2023 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. The list includes a pair of Indiana All-Americans, running back Vaughn Dunbar (1990-91) and quarterback Antwaan Randle El (1998-01). Coming off a weekend visit to Virginia, class of 2023 wing Jamie Kaiser announced a top-9 on Sunday. Indiana made the cut and they are joined by Virginia, Miami, Boston College, Iowa, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Maryland, and Wisconsin. While lists involving this many schools typically aren’t very significant, the real news that came out on Sunday relates to the timeline of Kaiser’s recruitment. Indiana will once again host three nonconference games in 2022 as part of a multi-team event, Jeff Goodman of Stadium is reporting. The Daily Hoosier has confirmed Goodman’s report that Miami (Ohio), Little Rock and Jackson State will all travel to Indiana for games in the Hoosier State. Here are each of those team’s 2021-22 records (and final KenPom rankings). After starting the 2021 season ranked in the top-20 and finishing 2-10, IU football coach Tom Allen knew offseason change was necessary. Some of the adjustments included the coaches, as Allen fired offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan and welcomed five new position coaches/coordinators during the offseason, an amount representing half of the staff. Indiana has also been very active in the transfer portal. The Hoosiers have brought in 15 new players since the end of the season, and lost 27 via the portal. Indiana offered Montverde Academy 5-star forward Malik Reneau back in 2021, but it was a pursuit that didn’t last long. Campus Ink and Indiana University have announced an agreement that will provide Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) merchandising opportunities for all IU student-athletes, the school announced on Friday. In the fall, the NIL Store powered by Campus Ink will launch a complete merchandising store for Indiana student-athletes, featuring officially licensed ‘shirseys’ and apparel. Every athlete will possess a personalized digital locker room which will house their merchandise.
