Two former IU football players quickly signed free agent deals soon after the conclusion of the 2022 NFL Draft. Wide receiver Ty Fryfogle signed with the Dallas Cowboys and has a camp invite there according to multiple reports. Offensive tackle Caleb Jones signed with the Green Bay Packers, also according to multiple reports. Fryfogle finished his career sixth on Indiana’s career lists in receptions (158) and yardage (2,231), and tied for 10th in receiving touchdowns (10) in 53 games (33 starts). Former Indiana linebacker Micah McFadden extended the program’s NFL Draft streak when he was selected in the fifth round by the New York Giants on Saturday afternoon. McFadden was the 146th overall player taken in the 2022 Draft, going earlier on the third day than many had expected. The Tampa, Fla. product finished his IU career with 216 tackles, 149 solo, 14 sacks (94 yards), 37 for loss (169 yards), four interceptions, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and four pass breakups. The Big Ten Network is releasing condensed 8-10 minute cuts of Big Ten basketball games from the 2021-22 season. First up is Mike Woodson’s debut against Eastern Michigan, which was interesting to say the least. Indiana led at one point 48-29 before EMU pulled to with 59-58 with 2:47 left. The Hoosiers were led by Trayce Jackson-Davis with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Xavier Johnson added 14 points and three assists. Former IU football player Patrick Kraft will assume the role of Penn State Director of Athletics on July 1. Kraft has a 15-year career in intercollegiate athletics that includes leadership roles at Boston College, Temple University, Loyola University Chicago and IU.  He was widely thought to be in the running to replace Fred Glass at Indiana in 2020. “This is a special opportunity, and I am incredibly honored to join Penn State’s best-in-class athletics program,” Kraft said in a Penn State release. Indiana has had a player selected in the NFL Draft every year since 2014, but fans will likely have to wait a couple days to see if the streak continues. Three Hoosiers have the potential to be selected on day three of the draft, with linebacker Micah McFadden having the highest probability of hearing his name called. Former Indiana guard Khristian Lander will try to reboot his basketball career at a place his father once competed on the gridiron. Lander announced on Wednesday afternoon he has transferred to Western Kentucky.  His father Keith was a defensive back there in the ’90s under head coach Jack Harbaugh.
