There was no easing into high school basketball for Heritage Hills H.S. freshman Trent Sisley. The 6-foot-7 forward had offers from Indiana and Purdue before he played his first game, and with the talent to back those offers up, Sisley was the center of attention every night in Southern Indiana. Former Indiana husky Marcelino McCrary-Ball has signed an undrafted free agent deal with the San Francisco 49ers the NFL franchise announced on Monday evening. While he played the hybrid safety/linebacker spot at IU, the 49ers list McCrary-Ball as a 6-foot and 214-pound linebacker in their release. The Roswell, Ga. product finished his IU career with 241 tackles, 166 solo, 5.5 sacks (43 yards), 16.5 for loss (74 yards), four interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, 17 pass breakups, and 10 quarterback hurries in 53 games (44 starts) at husky. After stepping in on an interim basis to close out the 2021-22 season, Jeremy Gray will step in full-time time to replace the legendary Chuck Crabb. Indiana University Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Scott Dolson announced today that Gray will serve as the full-time public address announcer for both IU men’s and women’s basketball games at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall beginning with the 2022-23 seasons. Gray replaces Crabb, who served in that same role for 45 years before retiring in late January. Defensive end Ryder Anderson will get a chance to make the Green Bay Packers’ roster starting at their rookie minicamp in May the IU football program announced on Sunday. Anderson joined the Hoosiers as a transfer from Ole Miss on Jan. 12, 2021.  He led Indiana’s defensive linemen with 48 tackles, 28 solos, 3.5 sacks (21 yards), and 8.5 for loss (30 yards).  He forced one fumble and added four quarterback hurries  and started all 12 games at end. Indiana made a spring transfer portal add on Sunday when former Tennessee wideout Andison Coby announced his commitment. He appeared in five games for Tennessee and had one reception for five yards in 2021. The 6-foot-2 Coby was a three-star junior college wide receiver who enrolled at Tennessee in January 2021 and then participated in spring practice with the Vols.  He played the 2020 season at Northeast Mississippi Junior College and finished with 24 catches for 422 yards and seven touchdowns. Two more Hoosiers have signed NFL undrafted free agent deals on Saturday. Tight end Peyton Hendershot will join Ty Fryfogle in Dallas, and safety Raheem Layne has signed with the Los Angeles Chargers.  Both deals were announced by the IU football program. Hendershot finished his career as the Hoosiers tight ends receptions (136) and yardage (1,479) leader. The three-time All-Big Ten selection finished second with 14 touchdowns.
