C.J. Gunn ended his high school basketball career in style. Although he has already started working out with the team in Bloomington, the IU basketball freshman had one more prep obligation representing his home state in the annual Indiana All-Stars series against Kentucky. Gunn followed a 20-point game on Friday in Kentucky with a 21-point performance at Southport Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Saturday.  He was the leading scorer for Indiana in both games and earned team team MVP honors. Five-star class of 2023 forward Xavier Booker plans to take an unofficial visit to Indiana next week, The Daily Hoosier can confirm.  Booker previously took a junior year official visit to IU in October and returned for a gameday visit in February. The news of the June visit was first reported by recruiting sites 247Sports and Rivals. The 6-foot-11 Booker has risen to No. 4 in the nation in the 2023 class according to 247Sports after a strong spring playing AAU basketball with George Hill All Indy. The Indianapolis Colts signed offensive tackle and former IU football star Jason Spriggs, the team announced Friday. The move comes after the conclusion of the Colts minicamp this week. The 6-foot-6 and 301-pound Spriggs was a second-round pick (48th overall) with the Green Bay Packers during the 2016 NFL Draft where he spent four seasons. He also spent time with the Chicago Bears (2020) and Atlanta Falcons (2021). The Elkhart, Ind. product appeared in 15 games for the Falcons last season, making one start. Xavier Booker’s spectacular rise momentarily met its match on Wednesday evening at Mt. Vernon H.S. in Fortville, Ind. The culprit?  Jet lag. Fresh off earning most valuable player honors at the prestigious Pangos All-American Camp in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Booker was back in Indiana the next day to join his Junior Indiana All-Star teammates for their annual game against the Senior All-Stars. A.J. Barner mostly watched as Peyton Hendershot rewrote the IU record books. A three-time All-Big Ten selection, Hendershot finished his career as the Hoosiers tight ends receptions (136) and yardage (1,479) leader.
