Indiana will welcome one of their top targets in the class of 2024 to the Bloomington campus in late September. Rising junior forward Liam McNeeley told The Daily Hoosier a couple weeks ago he intended to visit Indiana, and he now has a date set. The 6-foot-7 point forward will officially visit IU Sept. 23-25 we have confirmed. Although this is often a time of year when visits align with football games, the IU football team is on the road that weekend at Cincinnati. Despite playing up a year, McNeeley was one of the top overall performers on the Nike…
The buzz surrounding Yves Missi centers on how much he has developed year-over-year, but even just over a few months his improvement was easy to see. We watched Missi in April at the Nike EYBL event in Westfield, Ind. and noted the 6-foot-11 prospect’s motor as a shot blocker and a rebounder. But watching Missi in July at the Peach Jam in North Augusta, S.C., it became clear that he’ll be more than just a rim protector who excels on the glass. Missi’s emerging skill level really popped at the final EYBL event of the summer as he displayed an…

Maintaining success has never been more difficult in college basketball. The combination of the transfer portal and the NBA Draft makes each offseason both eventful and potentially transformative for most programs. Now that the smoke has mostly cleared following the 2021-22 season, we’ll go team-by-team in the Big Ten to assess which programs are set up for success, and who might take a step back. ———— Next up is Purdue. Can a 29-8 season go down as a disappointment? Most Purdue fans would say yes after an 8-0 start and national No. 1 ranking had them dreaming of the Final…
Indiana’s primary name, image and likeness collective announced another major deal with IU student athletes on Wednesday. Hoosiers for Good has arranged deals with the 11 basketball players. The deals total $425,000, the Daily Hoosier has learned. The organization, operated in part by well known individuals such as Fred Glass and Calbert Cheaney, raises money to partner charitable organizations with student athletes who can use their influence and leadership to help Indiana communities thrive, according to its website. Indiana wrapped up a hectic spring and summer, full of live viewings and official visits. Now it is closing time with the class of 2023, as head coach Mike Woodson looks to deliver on the first recruiting class that he’s been involved with for a full year as the leader of IU basketball. Where do things stand with IU’s 2023 recruiting class? Here’s a complete recap. A year after pulling together the best recruiting class in program history during the rankings era, the raw numbers don’t paint a pretty picture for 2023. Not so far, anyway. Or at least not at first blush. After picking up a commitment from offensive lineman Tyler “Bubba” Jeffries on Tuesday, Indiana has eight commits in its 2023 class. According to 247Sports, that’s five less 2023 commits than anyone else in the Big Ten. Taken at face value, those are numbers that could send a seemingly always skeptical fan base into a panic. Did a 2-10 season squash IU’s recruiting momentum? …
