He’s suffered through questions about his perimeter shot for a full three years now. So it would be hard to blame Indiana senior forward Trayce Jackson-Davis if he let loose a little bit if he connects from 3-point range during the 2022-23 season. Head coach Mike Woodson will no doubt be happy for his veteran big man when he splashes from distance.  He regularly says he gives Jackson-Davis the green light from beyond the arc. And Woodson likes what he’s seen from the preseason Big Ten Player of the Year during the offseason. “I think this summer, the work that…

Romeo Langford put candy stripes on the inside of his jacket when he was a lottery pick at the NBA Draft in 2019. But preseason Big Ten Player of the Year Trayce Jackson-Davis put his stripes on full display Tuesday at the Big Ten’s media day in Minneapolis. Media days are often an opportunity for players to show off their fashion sense, and Jackson-Davis didn’t hold back in his custom designed jacket.   He was joined in Minneapolis by teammate Race Thompson.  Here are a couple clips: ——————– https://twitter.com/TheAndyKatz/status/1579853465022791680?s=20&t=rJqg3meHbSKIYDTuxIOuKg https://twitter.com/B1GMBBall/status/1579833632663171073?s=20&t=rJqg3meHbSKIYDTuxIOuKg https://twitter.com/TheAndyKatz/status/1579859255976693760?s=20&t=rJqg3meHbSKIYDTuxIOuKg https://twitter.com/BigTenNetwork/status/1579887261507719168?s=20&t=rJqg3meHbSKIYDTuxIOuKg The Daily Hoosier –“Where Indiana fans assemble when they’re not…

Georgia-based center Arrinten Page was Indiana’s last main target on the board in the class of 2023. On Monday evening Page announced he is headed to the University of Southern California. “It was a combination of their play style, coaching staff and what they have done with their big men in the past,” Page told ESPN’s Paul Biancardi of his decision. Indiana offered Page in April, he took an official visit in July, and the staff pursued him aggressively into September until it became apparent he was headed elsewhere.  Now the Hoosiers could end up facing USC and Page when…

Injuries have added to the insult of Indiana’s three-game losing streak, and the Hoosiers have suffered some key physical setbacks over the last few weeks as a 3-0 started has turned into 3-3. IU was down multiple starters against Michigan, and that might continue to be the case when they face Maryland at 3:30 p.m. Eastern on Saturday in Bloomington. Head coach Tom Allen gave updates on five players at his regular Monday press conference. If there’s any good news, none of the recent injuries appear to be of the season-ending variety at this point.  But several players are in…

In a frightening scene, Mike Hart was treated on the field for nearly 10 minutes as both teams took a knee and looked on. The current Michigan and former IU running backs coach stayed behind in Bloomington after suffering a seizure during the Wolverines’ 31-10 win on Saturday. On Monday morning, he released a statement through the Michigan program’s social media accounts. “I would like to thank everyone for their support, messages, and prayers,” Hart said.  “I am truly grateful for the trainers and paramedics, the doctors and nurses at IU Hospital, Michigan’s team doctors, coaching staff, players and Coach…

October 10, 1987 – Columbus, Ohio  A pouring rain made for a dreary day in central Ohio. For Ohio State and its fans, the conditions outside were the least of their problems. A balanced attack from Indiana — running, passing and defense, brought one of the more infamous quotes in the history of the storied Ohio State program. “I’ve known about Ohio State football since I was a freshman here in 1949,” Buckeye Coach Earle Bruce said. “This is the darkest day in Ohio State football since I have been associated with it.” Indiana rolled into Ohio Stadium and snapped…

Coaching changes can have a trickle down impact on recruiting, but it appears Indiana has avoided that in connection with its firing of offensive line coach Darren Hiller. IU only has ten commits so far as part of what is expected to be a relatively small 2023 class, but three of them are offensive linemen. When Tom Allen decided to make the change, no doubt an urgent step before the news broke was to get in touch with those three commits and convince them to stay on board. Whatever was said, it appears to have worked. Alcoa, Tenn. based Bubba…
