Indiana will be without the services of three scholarship players on Wednesday evening against Little Rock, including a starter. Trayce Jackson-Davis, Trey Galloway and Anthony Leal all emerged from the locker room not in uniform about 60 minutes prior to tip. The college careers of Indiana freshmen Jalen Hood-Schifino and Malik Reneau are off to fast starts, and that sends a strong message to younger prospects at Montverde Academy, the program that sent the pair to Bloomington. After a wave of 2024 visitors from the Florida school, the first class of 2025 Montverde prospect to visit the IU campus will be 6-foot-6 shooting guard Bryce Heard. After a 2-0 week that included a high major road win at Xavier, IU men’s basketball moved up a spot to No. 11 in the new AP top-25 released on Monday. It marks the second time Indiana has moved up a spot after opening the season at No. 13. Indiana was comfortable at their home away from home on Sunday evening. Miami kept things interesting for a while at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.  The RedHawks trailed just 21-20 with around seven minutes remaining in the first half.  But IU pulled away from there.  They took a 17-point halftime lead and added to it after the break.  After the sluggish start, the Hoosiers won it comfortably, 86-56. Indiana junior guard Trey Galloway sat out of the Hoosiers’ Sunday 86-56 win over Miami (Ohio) in Indianapolis.  The team announced before the game he was being held out for precautionary reasons. It’s a recurring theme at this point.  IU jumped out to a quick lead on Sunday afternoon and never looked back. The Hoosiers closed the first quarter on a 10-0 run and cruised to a blowout win over Quinnipiac at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington. IU men’s soccer advanced to the round of 16 with a 1-0 win over St. Louis at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington on Sunday afternoon. Ryan Wittenbrink scored the game’s lone goal in the 75th minute.  Indiana outshot the Billikens 16-11.  IU had three shots on goal to none for St. Louis.
