As we laid out on Monday, Indiana’s primary roster need going forward is production from the wing. One player with a proven track record to that end is Notre Dame transfer guard Cormac Ryan. Ryan started in all 32 of Notre Dame’s games this past season. He averaged 12.3 points per game on 40.9 shooting from the field overall including 34.4 percent from three.  He added four rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Things are going well so far for Indiana when it comes to securing talent via the transfer portal. The Hoosiers have landed a pair of big men — Oregon transfer Kel’el Ware and Payton Sparks from Ball State.  That haul gives IU the seventh best portal class in the country as of Monday morning according to On3. But Indiana still has three available scholarships on its 2023-24 roster, and a still anxious fan base. And unless the six returning players from a year ago make massive strides during the offseason, that anxiety seems justified.  The Hoosiers still have major needs.…

Indiana tried to get involved with Matthew Cleveland when he was a high school prospect but it didn’t go anywhere.
