Indiana senior forward Trayce Jackson-Davis was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week for the fourth-straight week, while freshman guard Jalen Hood-Schifino was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Monday. The award is the seventh of TJD’s career, breaking the tie with Calbert Cheaney and Steve Alford (six each) for the all-time Hoosier record for Big Ten Player of the Week selections.  Alan Henderson and D.J. Indiana sophomore center Logan Duncomb had surgery last week to address a major sinus infection, The Daily Hoosier can confirm. Tyler Tachman reported the news first for the Indy Star on Monday afternoon. It is unknown whether Duncomb will return for game action this season. He has not played since Jan. 14. The 6-foot-9 sophomore has not been a part of Indiana’s main rotation this season. He is averaging 2.9 points in nine appearances. Duncomb has played an average of 5.7 minutes in those contests. A 2-0 week with wins over Rutgers and Michigan help IU men’s basketball continue to ascend the AP top-25. The Hoosiers are ranked No. 14 in this week’s AP top-25, up four spots from last week’s poll. Based on their season average, Michigan should have scored in the neighborhood of ten points on their final eight possessions Saturday evening in Ann Arbor. But great effort by Indiana along with some luck led to a shutout over the final 5:12 and ultimately became the difference in the game, a 62-61 IU win. How big was Indiana’s win over Michigan on Saturday evening in Ann Arbor?  “This is probably the biggest game since I’ve been here as a coach, that we’ve won,” Mike Woodson said on Saturday night. ANN ARBOR, Michigan — Indiana defeated Michigan by a final score of 62-61 at the Crisler Center on Saturday evening.  The Hoosiers have now won eight of nine games as they secured their first win in the building since 2016. Michigan led 37-33 at halftime.  The Hoosiers were led in the game by Trayce Jackson-Davis with 28 points and 11 rebounds.  Jalen Hood-Schifino added 21 points and 5 assists. Indiana starting forward Race Thompson came out for pre-game warmups in street clothes in Ann Arbor on Saturday afternoon and will not play when IU and Michigan tip just after 6 p.m. ET at the Crisler Center. Thompson missed four games earlier in the season with a knee injury.  Indiana confirmed Thompson is out for “precautionary reasons.” On his pre-game radio spot, head coach Mike Woodson indicated Thompson may be able to play next week when the Hoosiers travel to Northwestern.
